FAQ
-
How do I book a flight? The fastest and easiest way is to send us a WhatsApp message using the button on the website, or directly to +1 242 820 9932.
-
What is required to reserve my trip?To reserve your trip we require full payment at the time of making the reservation. Payments can be made by credit or debit card, or by bank transfer. Bank fees may apply to bank transfers, which we will let you know at time of booking.
-
What is your refund/cancellation policy?Refunds vary according to the following timescales : More than 30 days before date of flight - Full refund applies 15-30 days before date of flight - You choice of either a 50% refund or full value credit towards a future flight with Seaplane Safaris, with no re-booking fee. Within 14 days of flight - No refund, but you have the option to transfer the flight to another date, subject to availability and a re-booking fee. If we have to cancel the flight due to weather, technical issues, or other circumstances beyond our control, then we will issue you a full refund to the payment method originally used. If we cancel, we will also endeavour to put you in touch with one of our alternative, locally based operators to get you to your destination. Your subsequent arrangements with them are outwith our control or responsibility.
-
How many people can the aircraft carry?C6-WET can carry up to 4 passengers, plus the pilot. In practice this usually translates into 3 passengers plus a few bags, or 3 adults and one child. Please don't be offended when we ask your weight(s) during the booking process. This is to ensure that we fly safe, within the weight limits of the aircraft. Your safety is our number one priority!
-
Is your seaplane safe?Absolutely! Our aircraft is regularly serviced and maintained to strict FAA and BCAA commercial standards, and undergoes rigorous daily, weekly, monthly and annual checks. Our pilots are highly trained, all with a minimum of 13,000 hours and 25 years+ of safe commercial flying experience under their belts. They absolutely will not compromise on safety, and are under no commercial pressure to fly if they think it isn't 100% safe to do so. When we say that your safety is our number one priority, we mean it! On occasion this means that we may have to cancel or divert your flight due to weather or other issues beyond our control. Rest assured that we do our best to avoid this, but when it does happen then we appreciate your understanding that it is for your safety.
-
When should I arrive at the airport? To ensure that your journey is a stress free experience, we advise that you arrive at Odyssey Aviation 30-40 minutes prior to your flight. The check-in area at Odyssey is fully airconditioned, and is a comfortable place to sit before your flight. Odyssey is situated on the south side of Nassau International Airport, and has plenty of safe parking available.
-
What can I expect before the flight?Once you arrive at Odyssey Aviation, you will be greeted by your Captain for the flight, who will brief you on the safety features of the aircraft. They will also give you details of the flight, and some of the sights that are to be seen en-route!
-
What attire should I wear? You can dress up or down as much as you like! The ideal would be shorts and a T-Shirt, as that makes the flight more comfortable for you. If your destination is a beach, or requires a water transfer, then we'd advise wearing flip-flops or sandals that can be easily removed.
-
Can I bring my own cooler/coolbag?Of course you can! There are size/weight restrictions, of course, but most standard coolbags/personal coolers will be fine. If you have particularly bulky/heavy items to transport, then please give us a call, or email us at info@seaplane-safaris.com to discuss.
-
Can I bring my pet with me?Of course you can! Pets are very welcome on board our aircraft, and as dog owners ourselves, we are used to having furry friends fly with us! All we ask is for as much notice as possible, so that we can make sure we have everything in place to make the journey as stress free as possible, for both you and your pet.
-
Can I eat and drink in flight? As most of our flights are of fairly short duration, we usually ask that no food is consumed on board. Of course this is flexible though! Please ask your pilot on the day for guidance. Drinks may of course be consumed! Although we would encourage the use of closed lid cups, especially in the case of hot liquids such as coffee.
